đź’ˇ The Role

Digital NNS Coordinator (up to two posts)

Northfield Community Partnership

Do you care about making sure everyone in Birmingham can access the digital world? We’re looking for up to two part-time Digital NNS Coordinators to help drive forward our citywide digital inclusion work.

This is a people-focused, varied role combining community engagement, project coordination, stakeholder relationship-building and communications. Depending on the skills and experience of the people we appoint, the two roles may either mirror each other, with each person covering a different half of the city or take on distinct areas of responsibility that reflect what each person brings to the team.

🔧 What You’ll Do

You might be working with an NNS colleague to think through their digital offer one day, coordinating a Digital CafĂ© event the next, or connecting with partners to spot new opportunities. You’ll be keeping things moving behind the scenes, tracking what’s working and building relationships across the city to help join the dots across Birmingham’s digital inclusion network.

  • Coordinate Digital CafĂ© sessions and local activity
  • Support community partners to develop their digital offer
  • Build relationships across the community, voluntary and statutory sectors
  • Spot opportunities and connect people, projects and ideas
  • Track what’s working and support ongoing improvement
  • Help organise events, training and communications

👥 Who We Are Looking For

We welcome applications from people with a wide range of backgrounds, experiences and skills, including lived experience, voluntary work and community involvement. We are much more interested in what you can bring to this role than in formal qualifications or a conventional career path.

You might be a great fit if any of the following sounds like you:

  • An understanding of digital inclusion, digital poverty and the barriers people face in getting online
  • Experience of community engagement, outreach, coordination or development work
  • Good communication skills – written and verbal – and the ability to connect with a wide range of people
  • Confidence using IT, including Microsoft packages or similar, and social media platforms
  • Experience in keeping records, maintaining systems and supporting project delivery
  • A genuine commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Knowledge of local community assets, signposting or the voluntary sector landscape in Birmingham
  • Experience of working with or alongside the over-50s, people with disabilities or those with additional needs
  • Experience in creating content for social media, newsletters or community communications
  • Experience of working across the voluntary sector, statutory services or commissioning environments
  • Have experience in programme or community management.
  • If any of the above resonates with you, we’d love to hear from you — and if none of it fits perfectly but you still feel you have something to offer, get in touch anyway. Who We Are Looking For
