What we do
We want to help Birmingham’s 10 Neighbourhood Network Schemes, community groups, social prescribers and social workers to build their digital skills and capacity so they feel confident about providing the right digital support to their citizens and communities. Our focus is on ensuring that older citizens and citizens with long-term disabilities have access to essential digital tools, tech and services.
How we can help
- Consultancy on setting up digital inclusion initiatives, activities, etc
- Advice on where and how to get free or low-cost digital devices and data
- Hold webinars to help our network learn new skills and digital resources (e.g. AI, online safety)
- …and more
Our partners and network
Neighbourhood Network Schemes
Neighbourhood Network Schemes (NNS) are funded by Adult Social Care, Birmingham City Council to develop the support people need to lead happy, healthy, independent lives in their own homes and communities. There is a Neighbourhood Network in each of Birmingham’s 10 constituencies, most of which are run by a range of voluntary and community sector organisations.
Birmingham Voluntary Service Council
The Birmingham Voluntary Service Council (BVSC) supports and enables organisations and individuals in the voluntary and community sector to deliver social change, to identify and build on existing strengths and to enhance these through volunteering and social action.
Community Digital Skills Network
The Community Digital Skills Network (CDSN) was started by our Community Lead Pauline Roche with the goal of bringing together organisations across the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector to address digital inclusion in Birmingham.
We hold quarterly meetings and have regular exchanges and peer support via our WhatsApp group and/or email.
