Eventbrite, the event management and ticketing website, has announced changes to their pricing for publishing events. These changes start from 6 September 2023.
Here’s an overview of the changes:
- There are two new plans: Eventbrite Flex and Eventbrite Pro.
- It is still free to sign up for an account, but you can only publish events with up to 25 tickets for free.
- For events with more than 25 tickets, you’ll have to select either the Flex or Pro plan and pay a fee depending on the size of your event.
- Flex plan allows you to pay for a one-time fee starting from £7.99 per event.

Up to 25 tickets | Up to 100 tickets | Up to 250 tickets | Unlimited |
FREE | £7.99 per event | £19.99 per event | £39.99 per event |
- Pro plan works on a monthly subscription basis starting from £19 per month. You can host as many events as you want, but the more guests you invite to your event, the more you’ll have to pay.

- Both plans give access to Eventbrite’s event ticketing and marketing tools
Only events published after 6 September 2023 will be impacted by the new changes.
If the new Eventbrite plans are not suitable for your organisation, there are some alternatives out there you can consider.
Alternative event management and ticketing platforms
TicketTailor
TicketTailor is a Certified B-Corporation events platform (companies verified by B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability)
If you mainly organise free events, then you’ll be happy to know that TicketTailor is completely free to use.
You pay a fixed fee only if you’re charging for tickets to your event, which starts from £0.20 per ticket if you pay in advance, or £0.50 per ticket if you pay at the point of creating your event.
TicketTailor offer charities a 20% discount and there are no fees for donations that you collect on the platform.
Digital NNS will be trying out TicketTailor for future events, so ask us next time how what we think!
TicketSource
Like TicketTailor, TicketSource also lets you publish free events at no cost.
For paid events, they charge a 7% booking fee for each ticket that is bought online. If you process payments using the platform Stripe, then the fee drops down to 4.5% per paid ticket. There’s even a handy booking fee calculator to help you work out how much you’ll get from each ticket sale.
TicketSource also offer a discount for registered charities, as well as other useful features such as allowing customers to donate when they purchase a ticket, and to receive Gift Aid on customer donations.
TryBooking
Another event platform that is free to use for free events is TryBooking, which includes access to all of its features.
For paid events, there is a 5% processing fee and £0.15 ticket fee. You have the option to pay for these costs yourself, or to pass the fee to ticket buyers. Like TicketSource, there is a useful calculator that you can use to get an estimated payout.
